Pycnogenol is a natural plant extract obtained from the bark of monospecies pine trees that grow exclusively within the Regional Park of the Gasconian Lands (Les Landes de Gascogne), in southwestern France, on the coast of the Basque Bay. The forest is pristine and natural - unpolluted with plant protection products such as pesticides and herbicides. The highest quality of Pycnogenol ingredients is due to the fact that the bark is not subject to seasonal changes, unlike other plants, which makes it an ideal botanical source. 1 kg of Pycnogenol extract is made from as much as 1000 kg of pine bark.
