Description of Medverita P-5-P 25 mg

P-5-P , or pyridoxal phosphate, is a biologically active form of vitamin B6.
Other types of vitamin B6 (including the most popular pyridoxine hydrochloride) are enzymatically converted in the liver to pyridoxal phosphate. 
P-5-P does not have to undergo this conversion, which is why it is more absorbable.
Pyridoxal phosphate acts as a coenzyme in the body, which is necessary for the proper metabolism of amino acids.
Taking large doses of vitamin B6 has a neurotoxic effect. Side effects have been observed when consuming this vitamin in the form of pyridoxine, but they do not occur with P-5-P supplementation.
