Camu camu  ( Myrciaria dubia ) is a shrub from the myrtle family, the fruits of which have been used by indigenous peoples of South America for hundreds of years. Each wild bush can produce about 12 kg of berries per year. Camu camu fruits are yellow-red and very acidic, which is why they are often ground into a powder and mixed with other products, rather than serving as a standalone delicacy.
