Specially-Coated Bromelain is enteric coated to protect the bromelain from becoming active in the stomach and act as a digestive enzyme for food. Bromelain, a mixture of proteases extracted from the stem of the pineapple, inhibits inflammatory factors to support joint health. Bromelain’s fluid-regulating properties may result from its ability to inhibit inflammatory cytokine production, inhibit neutrophil migration and more. Bromelain has to be enteric coated so that it will not be activated in the stomach and used as a digestive enzyme. Bromelain, a mixture of proteases extracted from the stem of the pineapple, has been used by Europeans for many years to inhibit inflammatory factors to support joint health.
