Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. Without enough protein, your performance will suffer, and your muscles will never grow. It has been shown that the protein requirements for athletes may well exceed that suggested by the RDA (0,8g/kg/day). This increases the protein requirement for athletes to approximately double or triple that of non-athletes. Research has shown that 2.0 to 2.6 g/kg/day of protein are required for periods of intense weight training. Bodybuilders and other athletes can especially benefit from supplementing with a high quality amino acid formula because they aid in repair, and growth of muscle tissue.

RDA - recommended daily (or dietary) allowance, the quantity of a particular nutrient that should be consumed daily in order to maintain good health.
